Online booking for transport and removals

You're behind the wheel. The next job books itself.

Your customers book ahead, want a fixed price and a written confirmation. You, meanwhile, are driving. Here is what Traxo takes on for you, job by job — and what it changes over a week.

In short

A website and a Google listing that get you found with no commission, jobs booked ahead at a fixed price, payment taken at the moment of booking, even while you drive, the reviews that get you picked next time, and loyalty points that turn one-off passengers into regulars.

4:30am

the time of an airport transfer: the one nobody wants to improvise.

1 in 5

bookings lost for want of an answer within the hour.

Booked directly, not through a platform

Someone arranging an airport transfer, a house move or an urgent parcel looks for a local professional, checks the reviews, and wants to book straight away. Coming through a platform, that customer isn't yours and you hand over a quarter of the fare in commission.

Traxo sets up your website and your Google listing with booking on them: your services, your areas, your prices. The customer books directly, you take the whole fare, and they become your customer — not an app's.

Web agencies' pages for removal firms sell design. What a customer planning a move or an airport run wants to read is narrower: your area, a price or a way to get one quickly, your reviews, and a way to book that doesn't depend on you picking up while driving.

  • Direct booking from Google and from your own website
  • A page for each service and each area you serve
  • No commission on direct bookings

A schedule that counts the empty runs

The trap in this trade is taking two jobs that don't follow on: a transfer 40 kilometres out and then an appointment half an hour later, or two house moves on the same Saturday. Running late is a matter of arithmetic, and it gets paid for in bad reviews.

Every service has its real duration and its empty run home. The calendar only offers what you can actually hold, with the rest time and the areas you serve at each time of day.

Friday 12empty runs included
04:30Airport transfer — 2 passengers · fixed price, paid
06:10Empty run home counted — 35 min
09:00Long-distance job — Nantes · there and back, 4 hrs
14:00No booking possible before 2pm

The price you quote, paid before the job

On a transfer, a house move or a delivery, the first question is the price — and the second is the guarantee that you will be there. Both are settled at once, with a fixed price accepted and paid at booking.

Traxo works out the price from the distance, the time of day and the service, the customer accepts it and pays online. No-shows disappear, the money is in before the job, and the invoice goes out automatically — useful for business customers.

In Ireland the kind of licence decides how a price can be set. For a hackney or a limousine, the passenger agrees a price in advance, and it is unlawful for the driver to charge more than the agreed price. A taxi works on the meter: the NTA sets the maximum rates, and a driver can charge less than the amount on the meter but not more. A fixed price shown on your website has to fit the vehicle you drive.

Common mistake

Confirming a 4:30am transfer with no payment. A customer who doesn't come down is a night lost and a job you cannot sell to anyone else.

“If you are using a hackney or a limousine, you agree a price in advance. It is unlawful for the driver to charge you more than the agreed price.”

Reviews, and the customers who come straight back to you

In transport, trust is everything: being on time, a clean vehicle, the way you carry yourself. Reviews are what prove it to new customers, and they decide before the price does.

The review request goes out after the job, with the link to your listing. Your regulars — companies, hotels, families — find their usual journeys again and book in two taps, without going back through a platform.

“My transfers are paid at booking and my regulars book direct. I don't hand a quarter of the fare to an app any more.”

A website for a driver or a removal firm: what the customer needs to read

The customers of this trade book ahead and worry about one thing: that you will be there. An airport transfer at 4:30am, a move on the last Saturday of the month, a pallet that has to be in Galway by noon. The website's job is to make the booking certain on both sides: the customer knows the price and has a confirmation, and you know the address, the time and what you are carrying.

That takes less than most agency pages suggest. Go through yours with this list:

  • What you do, service by service: airport transfers, weddings, corporate accounts, house moves, single items, same-day delivery.
  • The area you cover and the airports, ports and stations you serve.
  • A price, a price per route, or a quote form that asks what a price depends on.
  • Your vehicle: seats, luggage, wheelchair access; or van size and crew for a move.
  • Your licence or registration details, where your trade has them.
  • Your reviews, and a way to book that works while you are driving.

Taxi, hackney, limousine: three licences, three ways to take a booking

The National Transport Authority licenses all three as small public service vehicles, and Citizens Information sets out what separates them. A taxi can be hailed, wait at a rank, or be pre-booked; it must have a taximeter, a roof sign and a device to accept cashless payments, and it must obey the NTA's fare rules. A hackney can be pre-booked only, and arranges prices in advance: it does not have to use a taximeter and there is no maximum fare. A limousine must be pre-booked too, with the price arranged in advance.

For a website, the consequence is direct. A hackney or a limousine driver sells a price agreed before the journey, which is exactly what a booking page with fixed prices per route does; it is unlawful to charge more than the agreed price afterwards, so the price online has to be the price you mean. A taxi driver can take pre-bookings, but the fare stays bound by the meter and the national maximum: the standard-rate initial charge is €4.40, and the listed extras include €3 for pre-booking.

Tipping is part of the picture too: the rules on tips and gratuities, with the notice employers must display since 1 December 2022, cover taxi services among other sectors.

Removals and deliveries: the quote, the deposit and the date

A house move is priced on what the customer forgets to mention: the piano, the third floor with no lift, the van that can't park outside. A quote form that asks for the number of rooms, the floors at both ends, the access and the awkward items, with photos, gets you closer to a price that holds than a phone call from a customer standing in a hallway.

The CCPC's guidance for businesses says what must be given before a consumer agrees: who you are, the total price including VAT or how it will be calculated, and, for a sale made at a distance, the deposit conditions. A consumer who buys a service online can normally cancel within 14 days, but the guidance lists exemptions for contracts to be performed on a specific date, and the transport of goods is one of them. Whether a move booked for a given Saturday falls under it is a point to take advice on; either way, write your own terms: how late the customer can cancel, and what happens to the deposit.

On deposits, the CCPC's consumer page says a business generally does not have to refund one when the customer changes their mind, unless its terms allow it. With Traxo, the customer can pay online when booking, in full or as a deposit, at 3% of what is paid and nothing else.

What a website costs a driver or a removal firm in Ireland

None of the removals web design pages we opened on 02/10/2026 printed a price in euro, so the figures here are from two Irish agencies that publish cost guides, read the same day. Arrow Design's cost guide gives a small brochure site at €695 to €1,500 + VAT, with an online booking system as an extra at €300 to €800 + VAT. Digimark's pricing guide gives a brochure site at €800 to €1,500 and a booking or appointment site at €2,000 to €4,500.

Traxo's Starter plan is €50 a month excl. VAT with no commitment, or €40 a month on yearly billing, paid in one go (€480 excl. VAT for twelve months): the website, online booking day and night, online payment in full or as a deposit, and customer records. Online payment costs 3% of what is paid, nothing else: on a €90 airport transfer paid in full when booking, that is €2.70. Pro is €100 a month, or €80 on yearly billing.

Five questions to ask before you sign

An app, a dispatch system and a website of your own answer different needs. Whatever you look at, these questions show what the headline price leaves out:

Traxo's answers: a flat subscription and 3% on payments taken online, no commission on bookings; customers book on your own website; no commitment on monthly billing. If you stop, the website and the domain name stop with the subscription, and your customer records are returned to you on request within thirty days, then deleted. You open your account online, build the website, pay, and put it online in one click; a free fifteen-minute launch call is there if you want it.

  • Is there a commission on each job, and on which customers?
  • Do customers book on my website, under my name, or inside your app?
  • Whose list do the customer's details end up in, and can I contact them again?
  • How long is the commitment, and how do I stop?
  • If I leave, what happens to my customer records?
What Traxo doesn't do

Traxo isn't a dispatch system: it doesn't send jobs to a fleet of drivers, track vehicles or replace a taximeter. It isn't a ride-hailing app either, and brings you no app's audience: it serves the customers who look for you by name or by town. It doesn't check your SPSV licence or your insurance, and it doesn't calculate the volume of a house move for you.

Common questions

It isn't about leaving them, it's about having a channel of your own as well. Most drivers keep both and watch the direct share grow: those are the best-paid jobs, with customers who come back.
