Website for pet businesses with online booking

You've got a dog under the dryer. Your calendar already knows who's next.

On a Sunday evening, an owner notices mats in their dog's coat and starts looking for a groomer. They want to know what it costs, how long it takes and when you can fit them in. You, meanwhile, have a dog on the table. Here is what Traxo takes on for you, job by job, and what it changes over a week in the salon.

In short

Online booking that works out the duration from the breed, the size and the coat, a few questions that flag the awkward cases before the dog arrives, payment at booking, in full or as a deposit on the long grooms, a record for each animal with its own reminder rhythm, the reviews and before-and-after photos that win over new owners, and loyalty points that keep the regulars coming back.

2 hrs 30

for a big long-haired dog, 1 hr 15 for a small one: the duration follows the animal, not the name of the service.

1 record

per animal: breed, coat, temperament, recent services and grooming rhythm.

Nobody hands their dog to the first salon they find

The owner types “dog groomer” and their town, then looks at the photos, reads the reviews and hunts for a sign that you know how to handle a dog like theirs. A phone number on its own isn't enough for them.

Traxo sets up your website and your Google listing with your prices by size of dog, your before-and-after photos sorted by breed and a button to book. The owner sees the price and the duration before booking, and the appointment drops straight into your calendar.

Software directories and grooming-software vendors, many priced in pounds or dollars, are not where an owner looks. The owner types ‘dog groomer’ and a town, and what answers is your Google listing and your own website, with your photos and your prices.

  • Before-and-after photos sorted by breed
  • Prices by size of dog and type of coat
  • Booking from Google and from your own website

Every dog arrives with its own duration, and the day holds

A bichon groomed every six weeks and a matted Bernese mountain dog don't take the same time, even though both owners booked “a groom”. With fixed one-hour slots the day is running late by the second dog, and it is the owners who wait in the shop.

At booking, the owner gives the breed, the weight, the type of coat and the date of the last visit. Traxo works out the duration and the price from that, adds the time to clean the station between two animals, and places the appointments without overlap. A dog flagged as anxious or reactive is only offered the quiet slots you have chosen.

A booking form can also ask what Irish law makes relevant at the door. Certain breeds are restricted: in public they must be on a short, strong lead, with someone over 16, and muzzled. And since 1 February 2025 it is illegal to own an XL Bully without a Certificate of Exemption. Asking the breed at booking tells you before the day who is coming, and how the dog should arrive.

The two-and-a-half-hour groom that doesn't turn up

A small dog that doesn't come is an hour lost. A big long-haired one is two and a half hours of empty table, and you don't fill that at the last minute with a bath.

Traxo asks for a deposit at booking on the services you choose: big dogs, long coats, first visits. The reminder goes out the day before with the time and the length booked, a link lets them cancel in time, and the slot that frees up is offered to the owners waiting.

The CCPC puts the starting point plainly: generally, a business does not have to refund a deposit when the customer changes their mind, unless its terms allow it, and a business selling online must provide the terms and conditions for deposits. So write the rule in two lines, a refund up to 48 hours ahead for instance, and put it where the owner reads it before paying.

Common mistake

Giving every dog the same slot and catching up on the last one of the day. That is the most stressed dog of the lot, and its owner is the one who leaves the review.

04

The dog that comes back on time, and the owners who talk about it

A dog needs grooming every six to ten weeks depending on the breed. If the owner forgets, the coat mats, the work takes longer, and the next appointment is harder on you and on the animal.

Traxo keeps a record for each animal, with its services and its rhythm, and sends the reminder when the time is near. Two hours after the visit, the review request goes out with the link to your Google listing, and your before-and-after photos feed the website, sorted by breed.

“The reminders bring the dogs back before the coat mats. I spend less time detangling and more time on a nice clip.”

A dog groomer's website: what an owner is looking for

An owner choosing a groomer is choosing who gets to handle their dog for two hours behind a closed door. Price matters, but it comes after three other questions: have you groomed a dog like mine, what will it look like afterwards, and when can you take us. A groomer's website is where those answers sit when the salon is shut and your hands are wet.

That is a different page from the ones that rank for grooming software. The software pages talk to you, about calendars and reports. Your website talks to the owner, and what works on it is specific: photos by breed, prices by size, how long a groom takes, what happens with a nervous dog, and a way to book without waiting for a call back.

  • Before-and-after photos, sorted by breed or coat type, taken in your own salon.
  • Prices by size and coat, with what is included: bath, dry, clip, nails, ears.
  • How long each groom takes, so the owner can plan the drop-off and the collection.
  • What you ask of a first visit: vaccinations, matting, behaviour, a muzzle for a restricted breed.
  • Where you are, where to park, and whether you are mobile or work from home.
  • A booking button that asks the breed, the weight and the state of the coat.

Licence, microchip, restricted breeds: what Irish law asks of the owner

None of the rules below are yours to enforce, but each one turns up at your door, and a salon that knows them looks like one that takes dogs seriously. Citizens Information sets them out. Every dog over four months old needs a licence: €20 for an individual licence, €140 for the lifetime of the dog. Every dog must be microchipped by a vet and registered in the owner's name before it is 12 weeks old. And a dog must always wear a collar or harness with the owner's name and address.

Eleven breeds, with their strains and crosses, are restricted, among them the German shepherd, the Rottweiler, the Staffordshire bull terrier and the Japanese akita. In a public place a restricted dog must be on a short strong lead, under two metres, with someone over 16 who can control it, and muzzled. That applies on the pavement outside your salon, so say on your website how you want those dogs to arrive.

The XL Bully is the one breed that is banned. Since 1 October 2024 it has been illegal to import, breed, rehome or resell one, and since 1 February 2025 illegal to own one without a Certificate of Exemption. Whether you groom them is your decision; stating it on the booking page saves a conversation at the door.

Showing your prices, and the VAT question

Owners compare groomers on a phone, and a salon that prints no price loses the comparison by default. The CCPC's guidance for businesses is clear on how to show one: prices shown to consumers must include all applicable taxes, such as VAT, with no hidden charges. A range by size and coat is still a price; ‘from €45’ with nothing else is an argument waiting for the day a matted coat takes twice as long. Say what moves the price, and by how much.

Whether there is VAT in that price at all depends on your turnover. Revenue's threshold for a business supplying services only is €42,500 a year: above it, registration is obligatory; below it, you may choose to register. A groomer working alone can sit either side of that line, and crossing it changes every price on the list. It is worth knowing where you stand before you print them.

What a website and a booking tool cost a groomer in Ireland

The grooming software that ranks in Ireland is mostly sold from abroad: of the vendor pages we opened on 02/10/2026, the ones that printed a price printed it in pounds or dollars, so they are not quoted here. Two general booking tools do publish Irish prices. Booksy lists €44 a month, plus €5 for each extra user, with VAT added on top. Square Appointments lists a Free plan at €0 for a single location, then €19 and €49 + VAT a month per location.

For the website itself, one Irish agency has a page for dog groomers with a price on it: Northside Digital rents a five-page website at €99 a month, nothing upfront, with a 12-month minimum term, hosting included, and €100 for each page beyond five.

Traxo's Starter plan is €50 a month excl. VAT with no commitment, or €40 a month on yearly billing, paid in one go (€480 excl. VAT for twelve months): the website, online booking day and night, online payment, the full groom or a deposit, and customer records. Online payment costs 3% of what is paid, nothing else. A booking tool at €0 a month costs less than any subscription; what the comparison has to include is the website the booking sits on, and who builds it.

Salon, van or home: what changes on the page

A salon on a street sells its address: parking, opening hours, the window. A mobile groomer sells an area and a route, and the page has to say which towns, on which days, and what you need from the owner: water, power, a place to park the van. A groomer working from home sells quiet and one dog at a time, and should say how drop-off works so that owners don't arrive together.

The calendar follows the same logic. In a salon with two tables, each groomer has a calendar; on Pro, each person has an account, up to six. On the road, the travel between two addresses is part of the appointment. At home, the gap between two dogs is the feature, not lost time. In all three cases the owner books the same way, day and night, and pays the full groom or a deposit if you ask for one.

Five questions to ask before you sign

Whether you look at grooming software, a booking app or a website with booking, these questions bring out what the monthly price doesn't say:

Traxo's answers: a price in euro, excluding VAT, with no commitment on monthly billing; owners book on your own website; 3% on payments taken online and no commission on bookings. If you stop, the website and the domain name stop with the subscription, and your customer records are returned to you on request within thirty days, then deleted. You open your account online, build the website, pay, and put it online in one click; a free fifteen-minute launch call is there if you want it.

  • Is the price in euro, and is VAT included?
  • How long is the commitment, and what does leaving cost?
  • Do owners book on my own website, under my name, or inside your app?
  • Is there a charge per booking or per new client, on top of the subscription?
  • If I leave, what happens to my client list and my photos?
What Traxo doesn't do

Traxo isn't kennel or daycare software: no boarding runs, no vaccination tracking, no stock of retail products and no till. It doesn't check a dog's microchip, licence or Certificate of Exemption: what the owner declares at booking is theirs to get right. And it promises no position on Google: it lets the owners who are looking for you book online.

Common questions

Your regulars will carry on, and that's absolutely fine. Online booking, which asks the same questions you would, is mainly for new owners, and it takes their bookings day and night, including when the salon is shut. It all lands in the same calendar.
